# Customizing member emails

Memberply uses the same visual email designer for welcome emails after a Shopify purchase, one-time membership renewal reminders, and member event emails. Imported and manually added members receive built-in welcome emails, payment invitations, and reminders. Customizing these emails requires approval from Memberply support and uses a separate text editor with protected buttons. [Learn how to edit imported-member payment emails](/members-area/import-members.md#edit-payment-setup-and-reminder-emails). Each membership tier can have its own email content and images.

1. From the main menu, open **Emails** under **Store setup**.

2. Select the membership tier and click **Edit Emails**.

3. Find the email you want to send and set it to **Enabled**.

4. Click **Edit**, then enter the **From Name** and **Subject**.
5. In **Email design**, drag content blocks into the email. Select a block to change its text, formatting, spacing, colors, links, or other settings.

## Adding an image

1. Drag an **Image** block into the email designer.
2. Select the Image block and click **Upload Image**.
3. Choose the image from your device and wait for it to appear in the email.
4. Add descriptive alt text for members whose email client does not display the image.

{% hint style="info" %}
The email designer hosts uploaded images so email clients can load them when a member opens the message.
{% endhint %}

6. Review the email and click **Save**.

Existing emails created with the previous editor are carried into the visual designer the first time you open them. After you save, Memberply stores both the finished email and its editable design.

## If email sending is restricted

Memberply may restrict a store's outbound member emails when investigating abuse. A sending restriction applies to manual member additions, imports, application emails, and automated member notifications. Changing a template or enabling an email does not remove the restriction. Contact Memberply support for help.

If app access is also suspended, existing sessions and new logins are denied. Suspension itself does not uninstall Memberply or delete the store’s saved records. Contact Memberply support to discuss the restriction.

## Automated sending protection

Memberply monitors email activity for signs of abuse. A first reported spam complaint alerts Memberply support for review and does not by itself suspend sending. Unusual volume can prompt a review; strong spam-complaint or invalid-address bounce signals can suspend a store's member emails. Memberply support is notified. A sending suspension preserves your store data and does not itself remove app access.

A large import alone does not automatically block sending. If sending is suspended, contact Memberply support for review. Editing a template or having customization approval does not remove the sending restriction.
