# Legacy customer accounts

These guides are for stores that still use Shopify's legacy customer accounts. Most stores should follow the main [Getting started](/getting-started.md) guide for Shopify customer accounts.

Shopify deprecated legacy customer accounts on February 26, 2026. Stores already using them can continue for now, but Shopify recommends upgrading to customer accounts.
