# Membership cards

Create a printable card with the member's name, member number, photo and QR code. The card uses your store name and can identify the same member at multiple booked events.

## Card branding

Open **Store setup → Settings → Membership cards** to set a background colour and upload your store logo. These settings apply to every member's card in this store.

* Choose a colour with the picker or enter a six-digit hex colour, such as `#123456`.
* Upload a PNG, JPG or WebP logo up to 10 MB. Transparent logos are supported and displayed on a white backing. Memberply resizes the image for the card.
* Review the sample card, then select **Save branding**. Text switches between black and white for readability, and the QR code keeps a white background.
* Use **Remove logo** or **Reset to defaults**, then save, to remove the logo or restore the original purple background.

New cards and existing cards opened or printed again use the latest saved branding. Already downloaded PDFs and printed copies do not change. Branding changes do not change membership numbers or QR codes, and they do not affect the member portal or email branding.

## Create and print a card

1. Open **Members** and select a member.
2. Select **Membership card** in the member profile header, above **View in Shopify**, then select **Issue card**.
3. Select **Upload photo** to add a JPG, PNG or WebP image under 10 MB. Memberply resizes it into a small private thumbnail. Photos are optional.
4. Select **Print / save PDF**. Choose your printer or the browser's PDF destination. Use 100% scale for the standard 85.6 × 54 mm card layout.
5. Share the saved PDF with the member or print the card for them.

An existing membership number is preserved. If the member has no number, issuing the card creates one. You can change it using [Edit membership number](/members-area/edit-membership-number.md), then print the card again.

Only the card appears in the print output. Reopening an active card lets you print another copy with the same QR code. A changed name, number or photo appears on the next printed copy; an already printed card does not update.

## Replace or revoke a card

Select **Replace lost card** and confirm to create a new QR code. The old QR stops working immediately. Print and share the replacement.

Select **Revoke card** and confirm to disable scanning. You can issue a new card later. Removing or changing a photo does not change the QR code.

## Use the card for event check-in

Open the event's attendee list in the Memberply dashboard or the **Event check-in** tile in Shopify POS. Scan the card, compare the photo and name, then select **Confirm check-in**.

The card identifies the member. It does not create a booking, collect payment or grant admission by itself. A **Going** RSVP is required for that event. Members on a waitlist or without a confirmed booking are not checked in. Cancelled events cannot accept new arrivals.

Scanning a member who is already checked in shows **Already checked in** and leaves attendance unchanged. Use the attendee list's explicit **Undo check-in** action to correct a mistake.

Guests remain separate attendees and can be checked in by name. This release does not create guest QR tickets, wallet passes, bulk card downloads, automatic card emails or member self-service cards.

Both interfaces require an internet connection. Arrival saves immediately; other open attendance lists refresh every 15 seconds. See [Attendees and check-in](/events/attendees-and-check-in.md).
