# Schedule open enrollment

Scheduled open enrollment lets anyone purchase an application-linked paid membership tier during a defined date range. It is useful for event days, launches, seasonal intake periods, and other times when customers should be able to join immediately without waiting for approval.

The same membership tier, price, billing frequency, and benefits are used. You do not need to create or maintain a duplicate tier.

## Set the enrollment dates

1. In Memberply, open **Applications > Application Forms**.
2. Select the application form connected to the paid membership tier.
3. On the **Details** tab, find **Scheduled open enrollment**.
4. Enter both the start date and end date.
5. Save the form and keep it published.

The dates are inclusive and use your store's timezone. For example, a start date of 10 October and an end date of 10 October opens the tier for that full local calendar day.

## Make the tier available to customers

During open enrollment, customers can use the tier's normal Shopify product page and checkout from the event or from home. Make sure the product is available on the Online Store sales channel, then share or link to the product page wherever customers should sign up.

Customers do not need to submit the application form or speak to a staff member during the open period. After Shopify confirms payment, Memberply activates the membership and applies the tier's configured benefits in the normal way.

If the tier has a rejoin cooldown, customers must sign in or create an account so Memberply can check whether a rejoin waiting period applies. Open enrollment bypasses application approval, but it does not bypass the tier's rejoin cooldown.

## What happens before and after the window

Before the start date and after the end date, checkout requires a valid approval for the application-linked tier. Memberply restores this protection automatically, so you do not need to hide the product again when open enrollment ends.

If a paid open-enrollment purchase matches exactly one pending application for the same tier, Memberply marks that application as active after payment. It matches by Shopify customer, or by email when the application was submitted while signed out. This removes the application from the pending review workload without requiring a staff decision.

The same behavior applies to one matching application that is already approved and awaiting payment. Applications in needs-information or rejected status are not changed. If more than one application could match, Memberply leaves them unchanged rather than choosing the wrong one.

An approved applicant can also continue using their private purchase invitation, subject to any approval expiry date.

Open enrollment is available for paid tiers only. Both dates are required. If the dates are missing, invalid, or reversed, Memberply keeps approval protection in place.
